Song, Jeung Hyeon. ¡°A Study on Humboldt¡¯s Gift from the Perspective of Transcendentalism and Hinduism.¡± Studies in English Language & Literature 47.2 (2021): 67-89. In this paper, I analyzed Saul Bellow¡¯s, Humboldt's Gift, Nobel prize-winning work, from the perspective of Hinduism and transcendentalism. This novel is a work with the most prominent implications of transcendentalism and Hinduism. I will explore how the following idea is portrayed in this novel, which is the pivotal elements of both Hinduism and transcendentalism: the object we see is nothing more than an illusion and the idea that the self as an independent perceiver and the objective reality that is being perceived are the same.
